Reiki and Chiropractic Project

The Oregon Board of Chiropractic Examiners authorized Reiki as a Chiropractic modality in 2007, which requires that the attending Chiropractor must be trained in Reiki when staff other than the attending Chiropractor is using Reiki as a treatment with patients. The only Reiki training is spiritual initiation with secret symbols and a secret process to create a connection with Reiki Energy. In fact, Reiki is defined as Universal Energy in the Japanese language.

Reiki is an esoteric form of Buddhism, which is quite unusual when it comes to the OBCE authorizing Reiki as a known religion to be used as a Chiropractic modality. The discoverer of Reiki is reported to have meditated and fasted on a mountain top for several days and on the 21st day the Reiki symbols supposedly came out of the sky and hit him, the discoverer, on the forehead. From that point on he was able to spiritually initiate other people in Reiki, which for many years went on only in Japan until the mid-20th century when Reiki was brought to the United States by Hawaya Takata. She began to initiate some of her students into 3rd Degree and a few of those students were authorized to initiate additional people into the 3rd Degree level so they could in turn initiate more and more people into 1st and 2nd Degree Reiki.

I am one of the foremost experts in Reiki in the state of Oregon and throughout the world. I received in residence training for over two weeks full time in the fall of 1984 and became the first 3rd Degree Reiki Master, Teacher and Initiator.

Much secrecy surrounds Reiki, including the energy activating symbols, use of the symbols during the healing of clients and or patients and the actual process of spiritually initiating other people. The OBCE makes it clear that the attending Chiropractor must be trained in Reiki and this must by definition preclude simply learning about the symbols through some sort of unofficial process. To become trained in Reiki a person must start with 1st Degree which involves the basics of creation in the initiate’s body with the different secret symbols used by a 3rd Degree Master and Teacher. This process is secret, but it is OK to publically explain that the palms of the hands are activated and also the crown chakra on the top of the head and inside the brain. (Chakras are spiritual energy centers recognized in Buddhism and Hinduism).

Based on the authorization of Reiki I thought it might be a good idea to set up a Reiki clearing house for other Chiropractors. Based on the fact that Reiki is an authorized modality for Chiropractors to use with patients, then the full range of Reiki should be applicable. The 1st Degree practitioner can only apply cosmic, spiritual energy with the hands to the body of the patient but the 2nd Degree practitioner uses special, secret symbols to transmit Universal Energy to the body of the patient both with and without the hands. In fact, the 2nd Degree Initiate psychically projects the symbols on the body of the patient with the mind in order to transmit Cosmic Energy for the purposes of healing disease. Taking this one step further with the application of a 2nd Degree Reiki Practitioner, he or she is also trained in the secret methods for transmitting cosmic, spiritual energy across space and time to reach a patient outside the office and anywhere in the world.

Since Reiki s fully authorized by the OBCE, it must be also be true that a Chiropractor and or his staff can treat patients at home with long distance healing methods. With this new Reiki clearing house for Chiropractors, for those who have been spiritually initiated into the Reiki practice by an authorized 3rd Degree Master and Teacher such as myself, I can explain or other Chiropractors can explain the workings of as well as utilize long distance healing with the secret symbols of 2nd Degree to work on patients outside the office. Just think now much time and expense will be saved if the patient does not have to visit a Chiropractic office but can receive treatment through 2nd Degree long distance healing.

The long distance healing method and the projection of Cosmic Energy on the body of a patient in the office is clearly a psychic process. It may be necessary for the OBCE to clear up issues about Reiki used as a psychic technique due to the fact that it involves a high level of secrecy and that Reiki is a religion. I plan on bringing all of these issues to the OBCE to talk them over and to see if they need to make any additional rulings when it comes to Reiki as a Chiropractic modality. On the other hand, I am sure that the board members are well aware of these issues surrounding Reiki and potential conflicts with other rules and regulations, as well as cases that have been decided against Chiropractors when it comes to using psychic methods to treat patients.

I would also like to explore the use of other religious systems of healing that could be used with patients in addition to Reiki. For example, I have been initiated in Medicine Buddha, which is a healing and meditation system in Tibetan Buddhism. I am also an ordained minister in a Charismatic approach to Christian worship that could involve speaking in tongues in order to connect a person with spiritual energy for healing (spiritual energy in Christianity is referred to as the Holy Spirit).

In addition to the spiritual orientation with Reiki, Medicine Buddha and Charismatic Christianity I am also going to bridge the gap when it comes to the spiritual and religious history in Traditional and Medically oriented Chiropractic. I have been trained in Network Chiropractic, which is a radically dedicated approach to the spiritual philosophy of Chiropractic to connect the body with Life Force Energy based on the power of the spinal adjustment. I also have training in the spiritually based muscle strength response testing systems, such as Contact Reflex Analysis and Nutritional Response Testing. Both of these testing system are based on a method of analysis that involves what is considered to be a flow of spiritual, subtle energies from the organs, glands and through the entire body in order to come up with a medical diagnosis of disease and then choosing natural supplements that will treat and cure disease. It is important to study the relationship between spiritually based Chiropractic and the use of various religious systems of healing, such as Reiki.

This article is just a starting place to being asking questions and developing a perspective about the relationship between Reiki and Chiropractic and even how to treat patients without having them visit an office in the first place after their initial visit. This idea may seem totally outrageous to some readers, but Reiki in its totality has been authorized by the OBCE and based on this authorization, the use of psychic long distance healing techniques appears to fall under the general authorization.
